    A somber mood has engulfed Zambezi area in Kiambu County following a heartbreaking incident in which a woman is alleged to have poisoned her three children, leaving two dead and one fighting for life.

    According to preliminary reports, the woman administered a suspected toxic substance to the children under unclear circumstances. Two of the minors succumbed shortly after the incident, while the third child survived and is currently admitted to hospital in critical condition.

    Authorities say the woman also attempted to take her own life after the incident but was rescued and rushed to a nearby medical facility, where she is receiving treatment under close supervision.

    Police in Zambezi have launched investigations to establish the motive behind the tragic incident with officers working to piece together events leading up to the incident. The identities of the victims have not yet been made public as authorities notify next of kin.

    The shocking case has sparked concern among residents, with local leaders urging families to seek support and counseling during difficult times.

    Mental health experts continue to emphasize the importance of reaching out for help when facing overwhelming challenges.

    The surviving child remains under intensive care as doctors battle to stabilize their condition.
