Three men have been arrested at Matuu Livestock Market in Yatta Sub-County, Machakos County, after they were allegedly found selling three goats suspected to have been stolen from Kitui West Constituency.
The arrests followed an intervention by members of the community policing team after the three men reportedly attracted suspicion by offering the animals for sale at prices significantly below the prevailing market rates.
According to Yatta Livestock Market Chairman Stephen Musyoka Nding’ii, the unusual pricing raised concerns among members of the market community, prompting them to question the sellers about the goats’ ownership.
