The Wiper political dynasty in Kitui is in free fall, and at the heart of its collapse stand three familiar faces—Makali Mulu, Enoch Kiio Wambua, and Irene Kasalu. Once unshakable figures in Kalonzo Musyoka’s inner circle, the trio now finds themselves politically exposed, isolated, and ill-prepared for the storm ahead.

According to Kitui Politician and theologian Musili Kauta, with Kalonzo no longer expected to be on the 2027 presidential ballot, Wiper Party is rapidly losing its appeal and influence. Without Kalonzo, Wiper is not just weakened—it is politically irrelevant. The decline of the party leaves Makali, Kiio, and Kasalu dangerously vulnerable. They have no political identity outside Wiper, and once the party fades, they are left with no fallback plan, no machinery, and no financial muscle.

The return of Charity Ngilu and David Musila has only accelerated their downfall. Ngilu is not just coming back to politics—she’s coming back to dismantle Makali in Kitui Central. Musila, a respected statesman in Mwingi, remains a towering figure with grassroots loyalty and quiet but formidable influence. These are not fringe comebacks; they are strategic power plays by seasoned political forces who still command respect, resources, and relevance.
And that’s exactly what the Wiper trio lacks.
The truth on the ground is brutal. The three are financially struggling to sustain even basic mobilization. Word is already out that they can’t even afford tea for their own strategy meetings. In Kitui politics, where cash is still king, that weakness is fatal. Ngilu and Musila, on the other hand, have both the money and momentum to dominate every corner of the county.

There is no region left that the trio can comfortably claim as a stronghold. The ground has shifted, and they’re sliding with it. Kasalu’s base has faded. Kiio’s grip on Mwingi is gone. Makali’s fortress is being methodically dismantled.
This is not just a decline—it’s an implosion.
Meanwhile, emerging leaders like Augustus Kyalo Muli are rising with fresh ideas, youthful energy, and clear intent. They aren’t anchored to Wiper or trapped in the past. They are fast becoming the new faces of Kitui’s political future.
Those still holding out hope for Makali, Kiio, and Kasalu must confront the facts. Politics is not about sympathy—it’s science. And in 2027, not even Kalonzo Musyoka can rescue them. Wiper’s decline has outpaced their relevance, and no last-minute endorsements will change that.
Even defending their current seats now looks like an uphill battle. The people of Kitui are demanding new leadership—fresh thinking, bold vision, and energy that reflects the urgency of the times. The era of hiding behind party loyalty is over.
Ngilu and Musila are not just winning—they are reshaping the political map. In their wake, they are leaving behind a broken Wiper establishment and a trio of leaders who have run out of road.
As they fall, new voices are rising. And in that vacuum, space opens for bold, prepared leaders to soar—leaders unafraid to grow new roots and spread their influence across a county ready for change.
