The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has issued an urgent recall of a specific batch of SURE lubricated condoms after shocking safety tests revealed they contained holes, rendering them ineffective.

The affected batch, identified as Batch Number 2405055 and manufactured by Indus Medicare Private Ltd., poses serious risks to users by potentially exposing them to unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

In its statement, the Board directed all pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, and professionals to immediately quarantine the batch and cease its distribution. Members of the public who may have purchased the defective product are also urged to stop using it and return it to their point of sale.

“This discovery is alarming and highlights the importance of quality assurance in medical products. We are taking this step to protect public health and ensure no further harm is caused,” the PPB stated.

The recall has sparked widespread concern, with many questioning how such a critical product could pass initial quality checks. The Board reassured the public that it remains vigilant in monitoring medical supplies and called for prompt reporting of any defective products.

Consumers with concerns or inquiries can contact the PPB via its toll-free number or official website for guidance.
