Revered Tony Kiama of the River of God’s Church has called out Bishop Kiengei, accusing him of failing to meet the biblical standards for church leadership.

Citing 1 Timothy 3:1, which says, “Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task,” Rev. Kiama claims that Kiengei has failed the church by allegedly engaging in extramarital affairs, including one with his church matron, Dama Wa Spares.

For the past month, Bishop Kiengei has been at the center of controversy, with bloggers making several damning insinuations. They have alleged that his wife is a lesbian and claimed that Kiengei has been relying on his supposed mistress to finance his church’s compassionate missions. These rumors have added to the storm of gossip surrounding the bishop’s personal life, particularly his alleged extramarital affair with businesswoman and former JCM church Matron Dama Wa Spares.

Rev. Kiama, through his weekly online series “Kick Nonsense Out Of The Church,” has been vocal about his disappointment with Kiengei’s publiclife. He questioned the integrity of the individual who ordained Bishop Kiengei and urged them to step in, disciplining him and guiding him back to the right path. “Umetuangusha, umetuangusha,” Kiama exclaimed, expressing the frustration of many in the church community.

“I challenge whoever ordained this man to fold his sleeves and get to work. Take him as your disciple and discipline him for at least a year. He must step down and go through the necessary correction,” Rev. Kiama said. He further noted that such incidents contribute to the government’s growing interest in regulating churches, as internal accountability is often lacking.

Despite the allegations, including the alleged affair with Dama Wa Spares and the rumors about his wife, Bishop Kiengei has denied any involvement in ungodly behavior. He maintains his innocence as online speculation continues to swirl. The internet has been abuzz with the scandal for the past month, with bloggers fueling the controversy with unverified claims.
