President William Ruto has reiterated Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its diplomatic engagement with the international community, emphasizing the need for partnerships that promote shared prosperity.
Speaking at the New Year Diplomatic Briefing at State House Nairobi, President Ruto highlighted the pivotal role of international actors in supporting Kenya’s ambitious $38 billion (KSh 5 trillion) national transformation programme.

“We recognize the vital role of the international community in delivering our development agenda,” President Ruto said. “We welcome investment partnerships from development finance institutions, pension funds, and the private sector into our National Infrastructure Fund.”
The President also called for urgent international efforts to restore peace and stability in Sudan, stressing civilian-led engagements. He urged the continuation of dialogue and peace initiatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and South Sudan, noting Kenya’s proactive role in regional diplomacy.

On the continental front, President Ruto reaffirmed Kenya’s support for a stronger and better-funded African Union, a more effective Pan-African Parliament, and the full operationalisation of the African Court of Justice.
He also emphasized the importance of fully implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to boost intra-African trade and economic integration.
Globally, President Ruto advocated for an inclusive, representative, and equitable United Nations capable of decisively responding to the complex challenges facing the world today.

The briefing brought together ambassadors, high commissioners, and heads of international institutions residing in Kenya, reinforcing Nairobi’s position as a key diplomatic hub in Africa.
President Ruto’s message underscores Kenya’s vision for sustainable growth, regional stability, and active participation in shaping Africa’s and the world’s development agenda.
