Déjà Vu? Kitui County Assembly Leadership Upheaval Mirrors National Wiper Crisis
This latest court battle closely mirrors recent leadership wrangles within the Kitui County Assembly, where Wiper’s dominance was challenged in a controversial shake-up. As previously reported by Channel 15 News, the Assembly saw a heated contest over the election of a new Majority Leader, a move that exposed deep divisions within the party at the county level. The transition was marked by claims of coercion, lobbying wars, and alleged interference by senior party figures.

With the Kitui Assembly turmoil still fresh, the ongoing national-level battle within Wiper raises questions about the party’s internal democracy and stability ahead of the 2027 elections. The power struggles paint a picture of a party grappling with factional fights, with different camps battling for control.
Wiper’s Future at a Crossroads
Political analysts warn that Wiper’s persistent infighting, from Kitui to the national stage, could significantly weaken its standing in the run-up to the next elections. “The Tribunal’s intervention is a major setback for the party leadership. It signals growing dissatisfaction and resistance within its ranks,” a political strategist told Channel 15 News.
The Tribunal’s ruling puts the leadership shake-up on hold for now, but the bigger question remains: will Wiper manage to contain these internal divisions, or is the party on the verge of an implosion?
All eyes are now on the April 2 proceedings, where the Tribunal will issue further directions on the case. Stay with Channel 15 News for exclusive updates on this unfolding political drama.
