In a dramatic show of political firepower and youth-centered messaging, Mumias East MP and 2027 Presidential hopeful Peter Salasya today joined National Liberal Party (NLP) leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli for a high-energy grassroots registration campaign in Kwa-Vonza and parts of Kitui Central Constituency.

Salasya, who is on a nationwide “meet-and-greet” tour engaging ordinary Kenyans, lit up the crowd with fiery calls for generational change. He told the cheering youth that “the time to fish the youth during campaigns and dump them after elections is over,” adding that “it’s time we front our own, who understand our pain and our dreams.”

His visit to Kitui comes just a day after concluding his tour in Kathonzweni, Makueni County. There, too, he urged Gen-Z youth to join the NLP in large numbers, positioning the party as a fresh alternative to traditional political outfits.
The National Liberal Party, under Dr. Augustus Muli, has been on an aggressive month-long grassroots mobilization drive in the Lower Eastern counties of Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos. The campaign is aimed at building a strong base of youth and community-led support ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Dr. Muli said Salasya represents the kind of daring, unapologetic leadership the country needs, emphasizing that “we must build alliances with like-minded visionaries across the nation to truly liberate this country from political stagnation.”
The NLP’s focus on Gen-Z mobilization and community engagement appears to be paying off, with increasing attendance at rallies and rising online buzz. The fusion of Salasya’s national presence with Dr. Muli’s grassroots machinery may prove to be a defining political shift, especially in regions historically dominated by larger parties.
As 2027 draws closer, NLP’s bold youth-first approach and strategic alliance-building could become the defining political story of the next generation.
