Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has launched a scathing attack on Chief Justice Martha Koome, calling for her immediate resignation following the withdrawal of her security detail.
In a strongly worded statement, Havi accused Koome of losing public confidence and failing to uphold the integrity of the Judiciary.

“Martha Koome has lost public confidence. She has lost the sympathy-seeking cry. She has lost the propaganda war. She has lost the publicity battle. She has lost all credibility. She has become a liability to the third arm of State. She has resorted to cheap lies. She must resign,” Havi stated.
The remarks come amid heightened political and judicial tensions, with the Judiciary facing increasing scrutiny over its independence and role in governance. The withdrawal of Koome’s security has sparked debate, with some interpreting it as an attempt to intimidate the Judiciary, while others argue it signals internal discontent within the government.
Koome has yet to respond to Havi’s attack, but her recent statements suggest she remains firm in her position.
This latest development raises questions about the state of the Judiciary and the growing rift between key legal and political players. Will Koome weather the storm, or is her position under real threat? Channel 15 News will keep you updated on this unfolding story.
