After an illustrious 38-year career in the Kenya Police Service, Ms. Miriam Muli, the Principal Deputy to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, has officially retired, marking the end of an era. Her farewell ceremony which was held on Thursday at Vigilance House, was a moment of honor and celebration, graced by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who led senior government officials in bidding her farewell.

A proud daughter of Mwala, Machakos County, Ms. Muli’s journey from humble beginnings to one of the highest-ranking women in law enforcement is nothing short of inspiring. Having spent a significant part of her career at the National Police College, Main Campus Kiganjo, she played a pivotal role in training and mentoring thousands of officers, shaping the discipline and professionalism of the force. Her expertise in personnel management also ensured a well-structured and efficient team that will carry forward her legacy.

At the event, CS Kipchumba Murkomen, alongside Deputy IG Mr. Eliud Lagat, praised her contribution to the police service.

“Miriam Muli is a trailblazer whose leadership and commitment have strengthened Kenya’s security apparatus. Her legacy will be felt for years to come,” Murkomen stated.

Her retirement is more than just a career milestone—it is a story of resilience, excellence, and dedication, one that will continue to inspire young people, especially women in Lower Eastern Kenya, to pursue leadership roles in male-dominated fields.
As Mwala’s finest steps into a new chapter, her impact in the police force remains undeniable, ensuring that the values of professionalism, integrity, and discipline live on in the service she leaves behind.
