Mutuse Threatens to Expose Mutula’s Secret Ties to Ruto: ‘Pick a Side or I Spill the Beans!’

A political storm is brewing in Makueni County after Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse sensationally accused Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr of playing double-faced politics—pretending to oppose the government during the day while secretly cutting deals with President William Ruto’s inner circle at night.

Speaking during a lively event at Kisingo Secondary School where he handed over a brand-new school bus funded by NG-CDF, Mutuse openly called out the Governor, daring him to declare his true political allegiance or risk public exposure.

“Governor Mutula, you can’t keep lying to the people. You either stand with the opposition or with the government. Stop pretending! I have evidence that you’ve been meeting Cabinet Secretaries and lobbying to work with President Ruto behind the scenes. If you don’t pick a side, I’ll spill the beans,” Mutuse warned, drawing cheers and gasps from the crowd.

The MP, known for his bold and unapologetic style, accused Mutula of what he termed “night and day politics”—a strategy where leaders discredit government programs in public, only to seek favors from the same administration under the cover of darkness.

“This is not the time for empty rhetoric, ukabila or kiburi. The choice is between politics of development and political showmanship. Let Mutula decide where he stands,” he added, striking a sharp contrast between his own development-focused agenda and what he dismissed as Mutula’s political theatrics.

At the same time, Mutuse took a swipe at his detractors who have labelled him a one-term MP, saying their attacks only fuel his resolve to deliver more for Kibwezi West.

“Let them talk all they want. When 2027 comes, the people will reward work, not noise. For now, my eyes are on development, not distractions,” he said.

The remarks have sparked fresh political debate in Makueni, with residents and observers wondering if Mutula Kilonzo Jnr is warming up to Kenya Kwanza despite his public alignment with Azimio la Umoja.

As the 2027 political landscape slowly takes shape, Mutuse’s fiery challenge may have just thrown a political grenade into Makueni’s calm—and it may be only a matter of time before the Governor is forced to respond.
