A woman has been arrested in Jomvu, Mombasa County, for allegedly locking her son inside their house and preventing him from sitting the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) after he was assigned examination number 666, which she reportedly associates with Satan.
Jomvu Police Commander Selinah Chirchir said the pupil was rescued on Tuesday morning and taken to school, where he proceeded to sit the national assessment.
The incident reportedly arose after the mother objected to her son sitting the examination because of the number assigned to him, which she allegedly linked to satanic beliefs.
