Makueni County Referral Hospital hosted a significant event on Thursday, aimed at uplifting cancer patients and their caregivers. The initiative, led by County First Lady Anita Mutula, saw the distribution of gift hampers as a gesture of support and encouragement.
The event was graced by key health officials, including the Executive Committee Member for Health Services, Dr. Paul Musila, and the hospital’s CEO, Martha Munyao, who applauded the oncology department for its exceptional commitment to patient care.
Plans were unveiled to construct a larger oncology facility to cater to the increasing number of patients requiring specialized treatment. Additionally, patients were urged to take advantage of the Social Health Authority (SHA) insurance system, which provides expanded healthcare benefits and financial relief.
Health leaders emphasized the importance of regular cancer screenings, underlining early detection as a crucial factor in improving treatment outcomes.
This initiative highlights the hospital’s dedication to enhancing cancer care and reflects Makueni County’s broader efforts to improve healthcare services for its residents.
