    Machakos County To Name Street In Honor Of Rex Maasai Who Was Shot Dead In Anti-Finance Bill Demos, Governor Wavinya Tells Mourners

    Machakos County will name one of it’s street Rex Maasai in honor of a Gen Z protester who was shot dead in the first week of Finance Bill 2024 demonstrations.

    This has been revealed by Machakos County governor Hon Wavinya Ndeti during the send off ceremony of Rex Maasai, that was held today in Kamuthanga Primary School, In Kagundo Sub-County, Machakos County.

    Wavinya said he will persuade members of County Assembly to pass a legislation legitimizing the naming of one of Machakos Town’s street, in honor of Rex Maasai.

    Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka said said Rex Maasai’s death was not in vain and called on Nairobi County to follow the suit and honor Rex through renaming of Muindi Mbingi Street, which hws already been rebranded by Anti-Finance protesters.

    Present also during the funeral service was Machakos Senator Hon Agnes Kavindu, Machakos Women Representative Joyce Kamene, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa, Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino, and Nairobi County Senator Edwin Sifuna who called on President William Ruto to ensure that killer cops who shot innocent protesters are brought to book.
