Kitui Senator Hon. Enoch Kiio Wambua on Monday led a delegation of Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to condole with Kitui East MP Hon. Nimrod Mbai at his Acacia Farm home, following the untimely death of his mother, Dorcas Kanini Mbai, in a road accident along the Thika–Garissa Highway.

The visit marked a strong show of unity and compassion across political lines, as leaders stood in solidarity with the bereaved family just a day after the tragic crash that claimed Mama Dorcas’ life at the Yatta Canal blackspot in Kithimani.
In a message of appreciation, Hon. Mbai said:
“My heartfelt appreciation goes out to Kitui Senator Enock Wambua, MCA Hon. Malinga Munyao, Hon. Jackline Kalenga, and all the distinguished leaders and friends who came to condole with us at our Acacia Farm Home after the tragic passing of our mother yesterday.”

The emotional gathering was marked by prayer, words of comfort, and quiet reflection, as mourners described Mama Dorcas as a pillar of strength and humility who raised a family grounded in faith and leadership.
The Sunday mid-morning crash involved a Toyota Probox that lost control and plunged into the Yatta Canal, killing one woman — now confirmed to be Hon. Mbai’s mother — and injuring two others.
Condolences continue to stream in from across the country, with more leaders expected to visit in the coming days as funeral arrangements get underway.
