Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has arrived in Kitui County this evening ahead of a crucial security summit set for tomorrow, as the government moves to address the rising wave of insecurity in the region, Channel 15 News has learned.

Earlier today, CS Murkomen was at the National Police Leadership Academy in Ngong, where he addressed senior officers on the importance of strong, accountable leadership within the National Police Service. “Our county commanders are pivotal in building an efficient and people-centered Police Service,” he said, emphasizing the need for continuous leadership training and reforms to enhance coordination and public trust.

Flanked by Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat and NPLA Commandant Mathiu Kainga, the CS reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to modernizing the police force and fast-tracking ongoing policy and legal reforms.
