Zombe/Mwitika Ward in Kitui East will take centre stage in Kitui County’s legislative affairs on Monday, November 2, as the County Assembly opens its Bunge Mashinani sittings at Zombe Huduma Centre Hall.
The Monday sitting marks the beginning of a five-day programme that will bring Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to Kitui East, where they will conduct normal plenary business outside the Assembly’s main headquarters.
The proceedings are scheduled to begin at 9am, with residents of Zombe/Mwitika and neighbouring areas invited to attend and witness the Assembly in session.

In his invitation to the public, Katisya encouraged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to witness their elected representatives carrying out their legislative responsibilities within their communities.
“Come and witness your County Assembly of Kitui in action,” he said.
The relocation was formally communicated through Gazette Notice No. 16434, dated October 14, 2026, which confirmed that the Assembly would hold its sittings at Zombe Huduma Centre Hall from November 2 to 6.
The initiative is anchored in constitutional provisions, including Article 196, which requires county assemblies to facilitate public participation in their proceedings.
As Monday approaches, residents have an opportunity to be part of the opening session and follow county legislative business as Kitui’s Assembly takes its proceedings to Zombe.
