Kenya is expected to experience rainfall in several parts of the country over the next seven days, with Kitui, Machakos and Makueni among the counties where isolated storms may occur, according to the weekly rainfall forecast for October 20–26, 2026.
The forecast indicates that rainfall is expected in parts of 47 counties, although its distribution may vary significantly from one area to another.
Other counties where isolated storms may occur include Kajiado, Laikipia, Samburu, Mandera, Wajir and Marsabit, raising the possibility of localised thunderstorms during the forecast period.

Residents in Kitui, Machakos and Makueni are advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly in areas that may experience heavy downpours within short periods. Motorists and other road users should exercise caution where rainfall reduces visibility or makes roads slippery.
Hot Days Expected in Eight Counties
Meanwhile, daytime temperatures exceeding 35°C are expected in parts of Garissa, Wajir, Tana River, Isiolo, Kilifi, Marsabit, Samburu and Turkana counties.
The high temperatures could increase heat-related discomfort, particularly for people working outdoors. Residents in the affected areas should take precautions, including drinking sufficient water, limiting strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest hours and seeking shade where possible.
Cold Nights Expected in Several Counties
Night-time temperatures below 10°C are expected in a few areas, including parts of Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Nakuru and Kajiado counties.
Residents in these highland and elevated areas should prepare for chilly nights, with extra clothing and warm bedding recommended for vulnerable household members.
Rainfall Outlook Across the Country
The forecast lists Meru, Embu, Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Garissa, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kericho, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kisii, Kisumu, Kwale, Lamu, Nairobi, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Nyandarua, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga and West Pokot among the other counties expected to receive rainfall in some areas.

The outlook also covers Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Mandera, Marsabit, Migori, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nyeri, Wajir and Tharaka-Nithi.
However, the expected rainfall does not mean every part of the listed counties will receive rain, as local weather conditions may differ.
Residents are encouraged to monitor subsequent weather updates throughout the seven-day period and take appropriate precautions based on conditions in their respective areas.
