Celebrated Kamba gospel artist Stephen Kasolo is spending his second night behind bars at Kitengela Prison, where he will remain for seven more days until his bail hearing. His arrest and detention follow a complaint filed by fellow gospel singer Stella Mengele, leading to charges of defamation, cyber harassment, and incitement to harm.

Kasolo was initially held at DCI Athi River before being transferred to Kitengela Prison on Tuesday evening, where he will remain on remand until he appears before a judge next week.
Tight Security and Restricted Access
A senior prison officer, who spoke to Channel 15 News on condition of anonymity, confirmed that family, friends, and a few artists visited Kasolo this morning, but only his uncle and wife were allowed direct contact with him.
“There was a lot of pressure from those who came to see him, but only two close family members were allowed to interact with him. The rest were turned away,” the officer disclosed.
No More Mediation – Only the Courts Will Decide
With mediation efforts having failed, Kasolo now has no option but to face the full force of the law. Stella Mengele, who had hoped to settle the matter amicably, made it clear that she was left with no choice.

“I was told to go where I know. I only know God and the law,” she stated.
As Kasolo remains behind bars, the gospel industry is reeling from the scandal, with fans and fellow musicians divided over the dramatic turn of events.
