Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has issued a defiant political statement, ruling out any possibility of joining President William Ruto’s government and vowing to work tirelessly to ensure Ruto serves only one term in office.

Speaking on Saturday, Kalonzo said he would “not be bought” into abandoning the opposition’s cause, stressing his commitment to stand with the people of Kenya.

“I will not be bought to join government. I am ready to pay any price to make Ruto a one-term president. I will not abandon the people of Kenya,” Kalonzo declared.

The former Vice President further popularised the rallying call #WanTam — short for One-Term President — stating that it was “not only a reality but an eventuality.”

Citing what he described as growing public disillusionment with the Kenya Kwanza administration, Kalonzo claimed that 86% of Kenyans have lost faith in the Ruto regime.

“That is why they say clearly and loudly that #WanTam,” he added.

Kalonzo’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions and speculation over possible realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, as both the government and opposition intensify their public engagements.
