Police in Kagundo Sub-County, Machakos County, have arrested a local preacher who is alleged to have engaged in sexual acts with two minors aged 15 and 17.

According to a police report filed at Kagundo Police Station and seen by Channel 15 News, the suspect, identified as Victor Matheka, was apprehended at his church premises, which also doubles as his residence.

Officers reportedly found him in the company of the two minors during the operation.
Miu Sub-Chief Catherine Katunge confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect is currently being held at Kagundo Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.

The minors were taken to Kagundo Hospital for medical examination. Preliminary medical assessments indicate that they may have been subjected to repeated sexual abuse prior to and on the day of the arrest.

Police said investigations are ongoing and the suspect is expected to face charges under the Sexual Offences Act.

Authorities have urged members of the public to report cases of child abuse and exploitation to the nearest police station.
