In a heated response to swirling rumors of an alleged altercation at State House, Dennis Itumbi, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, has vehemently denied claims that Farouk Kibet, a trusted aide to President William Ruto, slapped Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
The sensational allegations, which have taken social media by storm, suggest that Kibet physically confronted the Deputy President during a heated exchange. However, Itumbi has dismissed the claims as “fabricated lies” designed to mislead Kenyans and tarnish the reputation of the presidency.
“Farouk Kibet is one of the calmest and most focused individuals in office. He’s persuasive, even when he disagrees. The idea that he would slap anyone, let alone the Deputy President, is complete nonsense,” Itumbi stated emphatically.
The allegations have sparked intense debate, coming at a time when Deputy President Kindiki’s absence from key public events, including the end-of-year State House event at Kisii State Lodge, has fueled speculation of a rift within the country’s top leadership.
Unity in Focus
While critics argue that Kindiki’s absence reflects underlying tensions, Itumbi was quick to counter, describing the Deputy President as a results-driven leader working tirelessly behind the scenes to implement the administration’s agenda.
“Kindiki is a worker. He puts his mind and energy into delivering results, not appearances,” Itumbi added, reiterating that the administration remains focused on delivering “The Plan.”
Rumors vs. Reality
The allegations against Farouk Kibet have also reignited conversations about the power dynamics at State House, with some viewing the claims as an attempt to undermine the President’s trusted inner circle.
Itumbi, however, insists that the rumors are part of a calculated smear campaign aimed at sowing discord within the administration. “This uwongo might work mashinani, but we will no longer ignore it. We will counter these lies with facts in real time,” he declared.
As the administration works to maintain public confidence, the denial of the alleged incident serves as a strong statement of unity. Whether this will put the rumors to rest, however, remains to be seen.
