Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has moved to directly dismiss speculation about his health, posting a brief but emphatic message on his verified social media accounts:
    “I am well, very well!”

The reassurance comes after Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, while addressing locals at the Baringo Cultural Festival and Kimalel Goat Auction, suggested that the Deputy President was “not feeling very well”.

Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku engages with locals in a differentoublic forum , the Public Service Cs has since attracted criticism following his remarks about Deputy President Kindiki health during the cultural and goat auction event in Baringo.

Speaking partly in Kiswahili, CS Ruku said:
“Vilevile Mheshimiwa Raisi nimetumwa, naibu wako ambaye asikii vizuri sana ameniambia nikifika nisalamie watu wa Baringo sana, na pia amenituma na pesa mingi ya kununua mbuzi ya Krismasi. Kwa hivyo mkiona kama naibu wa raisi hayuko, amenituma na anaendelea vizuri kabisa.”

President William Ruto during the Kimalel Goat Auction in Baringo County, an event where Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku’s remarks about Deputy President Kindiki’s health sparked widespread speculation

Ruku’s comments, though meant to reassure the public, triggered a flurry of online discussion, with some interpreting the phrase “asikii vizuri sana” (not feeling very well) as a subtle hint of ill health.

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki is received by Tourism CS Rebecca Miano during his last public engagement at the Kenya Wildlife Service Law Enforcement Academy in Manyani, Taita Taveta County. The appearance comes amid recent speculation about his health, which Kindiki later dismissed on his verified social media accounts

Kindiki’s social media response, concise and emphatic, is widely interpreted as a direct refutation of any claims about his condition, projecting confidence and quelling rumours without providing further details.

Political observers note that brief, pointed public reassurances like this are often used by senior leaders in Kenya to counter speculation without amplifying it, especially in an environment where unconfirmed reports can spread rapidly on social media.
