Gospel singer Stephen Kasolo is officially daring a court case this is after attempts to resolve his case out of court failed. A mediation between Kasolo’s legal team and that of Stella Mengele collapsed, paving the way for his prosecution over defamation, cyber harassment, and incitement to harm.

The case, which has rocked the Kamba gospel industry, stems from a TikTok video in which Kasolo is heard making damaging statements against Mengele, including inciting violence, defaming her character, and making threatening remarks.

    The Charges Against Kasolo

According to the DCI Athi River, Kasolo will be charged with:

    1. Defamation – Accusing Stella Mengele of immoral behavior, calling her a divorcee, and questioning her personal relationships in a bid to tarnish her reputation.
    2. Cyber Harassment – Repeated online attacks against Mengele, including public humiliation and verbal abuse.
    3. Incitement to Harm – Uttering words such as “Let her die!” and “We will dirty you till dawn”, which authorities consider direct threats.

The statements, which have now become key evidence in the case, paint a disturbing picture of targeted cyberbullying against Mengele.

Failed Mediation: Why the Case is Heading to Court

Following Kasolo’s viral outburst, an attempt was made to settle the matter through mediation. However, sources close to the case say Stella Mengele refused to back down, arguing that Kasolo’s public insults and threats had gone too far.

“I have endured insults for three years. I only know God and the law. Respect families,” Mengele declared after the mediation collapsed.

With no amicable resolution reached, DCI Athi River moved in swiftly, locking up Kasolo in preparation for his arraignment in court.

    A Gospel Industry in Turmoil

Kasolo’s legal troubles come barely hours after the release of Ndeke Ya Muthanga, who had also been arrested following a complaint lodged by Kasolo himself. Now, in an ironic twist, Kasolo is the one facing the wrath of the law, raising eyebrows within the gospel community.

As he prepares to face the court in the coming days, gospel fans are left questioning whether the industry has lost its moral compass, with public feuds overshadowing the ministry of music.
