Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has successfully secured a Ksh. 264 million partnership with Morocco’s Marrakech-Safi region to support key development projects in Makueni County.

The agreement, formalized during the governor’s recent visit to Morocco, was signed alongside Samir Goudar, President of the Marrakech-Safi region. The signing event was graced by Farid Chourak, King Mohammed VI’s representative and Governor of Marrakech Region, along with seven other regional governors.

The partnership is financed through the African Fund for International Decentralized Co-operation of Local Authorities (FACDI), an initiative that aids decentralized governments across Africa.

Makueni is set to receive the funds in annual installments over the next five years, with the money directed toward advancing development programs aimed at fostering the county’s growth and prosperity.
