The faceless and tribeless generation Z have taken to the streets of Kitui Town to join the rest their colleagues in protesting against the controversial Finance Bill 2024 , which is on it’s final stage today at the floor of the house.
The demonstration kicked off at Kitui Stadium where the protesters had convened before marching to the streets of Kitui Town , starting at Kitui Bus Park.
The protest cruised to Kilungya Street before proceeding to Kitui County Assembly, where they chanted slogans of reject finance billl 2024 , before marching again towards the Central Business District.
The protesters called on Members of Parliament not to vote for the bill during it’s final stage and dared to hold more protest should it pass .
They accused the government of being inconsiderate in their push to have more taxes included in the bill and asked President William Ruto not to sign the bill into law should it pass.
They are now calling for the bill to be withdrawn fully and not to be ammended.
Police officers escorted the protesters who were peaceful and unarmed.
By the time of going to press, no unlawful incident had been witnessed by our correspondents.
