Two former police officers affiliated with the Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) movement are in custody as detectives investigate suspected links to terrorism and unlawful possession of firearms.

Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, a founding member of the movement and an ex-police officer, was arrested in a covert operation along Lang’ata Road. He was arraigned today at the Kahawa Law Courts on charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012, and illegal firearm possession. Osoi is being held at Muthaiga Police Station, with a ruling on police custodial orders expected tomorrow, July 31, 2025.

In a separate arrest in Kahawa West, detectives apprehended Jackson Kuria Kihara, also a former police officer known by the alias Cop Shakur. He was found wearing a red beret marked with the ‘FBI’ insignia, a symbol now under tight security scrutiny.

Kihara will be arraigned at the Kahawa Law Courts on July 31 as investigations continue into the group’s activities and affiliations.
