The head of Catholic church in Kitui County has pleaded with students to be weary of vices that could hinder their academic, spiritual and personal growth.
Bishop Mwongela wants students to concentrate on their studies , being displined and leaving financial concerns to their parents to tackle them.
Speaking during annual YCS rally held today at at St. Charles Lwanga School shortly after presiding a mass attended by over 10,000 students from Kitui County , Bishop Mwongela called on the students to take their studies and leadership roles wt school seriously and expressed his willingness to journey with the students as they develop into resourceful members of the church and society.
“Think about forty years from now, where will you be? Let us journey together; you are the apple of my eye. I love each one of you with fatherly love; you are my daughters and sons, and I want the very best for you,” Said Mwongela
On his part the Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Charles Kimanga urged the students to strive for academic excellence and to embrace ambitious dreams.
The YCS rally brought together students from secondary schools in Kitui County, as well as clergy, religious, matrons, patrons, and teachers.
