Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Soipan Tuya has sent social media into a frenzy after pictures emerged of her participating in a Joint and Combined Fire-Power Exercise alongside the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) at Larisoro, Samburu County.

The high-stakes military drill, which marks the culmination of pre-deployment training for the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and the Kenya Military Academy Officer Cadet Grand Finale Exercise, showcased Kenya’s military might in action.
CS Tuya’s Commanding Presence Steals the Show
Tuya, dressed in full military gear, stood shoulder to shoulder with Kenya’s elite forces as they demonstrated combat maneuvers, live fire drills, and tactical exercises in a show of military precision and strength. The photos, shared widely online, sparked admiration, with Kenyans praising her “hands-on” approach to leadership.

“Over the past two days, I have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the ongoing pre-deployment training for the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and the rigorous preparation of our Officer Cadets,” Tuya stated on her social media.
She further noted that regional military cooperation was at the heart of this exercise, with officer cadets from Mozambique, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, and Malawi participating in the training.

Kenyans online quickly took to Twitter (X), Facebook, and TikTok to react to Tuya’s participation in the drills. Some praised her as a “warrior CS,” while others joked about her “auditioning for an action movie.”
“We have a Defence CS who doesn’t just sit in an office but actually gets in the field. This is leadership!” wrote one user.

Another commented, “Soipan Tuya looks like she’s ready to lead a military operation herself! Total badass!”
