Ikanga Ward MCA Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka, who was dramatically arrested yesterday in Nairobi during a Wiper Party MCA meeting, is set to be arraigned this morning at the Kitui Law Courts to face multiple fraud-related charges.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has lined up five charges against Kisavi, including forgery, fraud, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Investigations reveal that he allegedly presented fake documents in an attempt to defraud the Kitui County Assembly of Ksh 2.2 million meant for MCA motor vehicle purchase reimbursement. The case stems from a complaint by Rose Kavithe Ngoima, who claims Kisavi illegally transferred vehicle ownership under false pretenses.

Kisavi’s arrest at the high-profile Wiper MCAs meeting caused an uproar, with his colleagues protesting the manner in which DCI officers took him away. A viral video captured MCAs confronting the detectives, demanding they identify themselves.

The embattled MCA, who has previously been linked to past legal troubles, will now face justice at Kitui Law Courts this morning, where prosecutors are expected to press for his formal charging and possible detention.
