Nairobi has been thrown into shock after prominent city lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu was shot dead in a drive-by attack in Karen South Area, near the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
Citizen TV, which first broke the news, reported that Mbobu was killed on Monday evening.
Mbobu previously served as the Chairperson of the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) and was a respected figure in Kenya’s legal fraternity.

According to preliminary reports, the assailant was riding on a motorcycle when he opened fire before fleeing the scene. Police have since launched investigations into the killing but have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack.
