In an explosive revelation, Dennis Itumbi has accused Wiper Party Leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka of attempting to bribe a member of the IEBC selection panel, Dr. Augustus Muli, in a desperate attempt to secure a seat for his preferred candidate, Dr. Koki Muli. According to Itumbi, Kalonzo’s alleged plot involved offering Dr. Muli a lucrative Deputy Ambassador position, which was promised through Kalonzo’s National Liberal Party (NLP), with the backing of ODM to ensure its approval.

According to Dennis Itumbi , Wiper party leader is the key block to IEBC reconstitution process due to his power plays games.

This shocking claim follows an election conducted within the Azimio coalition, where Dr. Augustus Muli triumphed over Koki Muli, defeating the Wiper candidate with 17 votes to her 7. In a bid to reverse the outcome, Itumbi alleges that Kalonzo convened a secret meeting with Dr. Muli, offering him the diplomatic position in exchange for his withdrawal from the IEBC panel and supporting Koki Muli instead.

A Bribe Rejected, Allegations Laid Bare

Itumbi’s statement goes on to explain that Dr. Muli rejected the bribe offer, stating that NLP had no interest in engaging in such manipulation. The shocking twist comes as Itumbi revealed that he possesses a 45-minute audio recording of the meeting, which he claims provides clear evidence of the bribery attempt. This revelation, if true, could have serious ramifications not only for Kalonzo but also for the integrity of the ongoing IEBC reconstitution process.

The Head of Presidential Special Projects & Creative Economy Dennis Itumbi has released a over 40-minutes audio implicating Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on the alledged interference with the IEBC reconstitution.

“The desperation was clear,” Itumbi stated. “Kalonzo’s camp was willing to compromise Kenya’s democratic processes for a seat at the table.”

    Kalonzo’s Response to the Allegations

These explosive accusations come amid growing tension over the IEBC reconstitution. Kalonzo had previously accused President William Ruto’s administration of stalling the process, claiming that the government was deliberately creating a constitutional crisis. However, Itumbi swiftly rebutted these claims, insisting that it was Kalonzo’s actions—rather than the government’s—that were threatening the credibility of the electoral body.

Wiper Party Leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has accused the state of intentionally delaying the IEBC reconstitution process by use of courts

“Instead of adhering to the democratic process, Kalonzo has resorted to desperate and underhanded tactics to secure a victory for his own candidate,” Itumbi asserted.

IEBC reconstitution still at stalemate as political power games continue with accusations being thrown left , right and centre. Citizenry are now pushing for the formation of the state body with just two years ahead of 2027 election.

The Battle for the IEBC Panel Intensifies

As the political drama continues to unfold, the stakes in the IEBC reconstitution process have never been higher. With accusations of bribery and manipulation now tainting the selection process, both Kalonzo and Itumbi face increasing scrutiny. As Itumbi promises to release the full audio recording of the meeting, the country waits to see whether Kalonzo will address these serious allegations or attempt to downplay them.

The IEBC saga has become more than just a political contest over positions—it now threatens to undermine the trust of Kenyans in the integrity of their electoral system. The fallout from these revelations could have far-reaching implications for the future of the IEBC and the political landscape in Kenya.
