Police in Kitui Central Constituency, Township Ward have arrested a middle-aged woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the chest following a domestic dispute in the Kunda Kindu area on Tuesday morning.

The suspect, who is reportedly the daughter of a local chief, was apprehended at the scene and is currently in police custody as investigations begin. The victim was rushed to Kitui County Referral Hospital, where he remains in critical condition under oxygen support.
Speaking to Channel 15 News via phone, an officer who didnt want to be on record since he is not authorized to speak to press confirmed the incident, stating that officers responded promptly and opened a probe into the matter.
The incident has sparked public outrage and renewed concern over the growing number of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases across the country. Human rights organizations such as Crawn Trust and CREAW have recently set up sensitization tents in Kitui to educate residents on GBV prevention, reporting channels, and available support systems.
As the suspect awaits arraignment, locals are calling for swift and impartial justice — warning that social connections should not shield perpetrators from the law.
