As political temperatures slowly begin to rise ahead of the 2027 General Election, Kitui Central parliamentary aspirant Boniface Musambi has called on fellow contenders to conduct peaceful and respectful campaigns in what is shaping up to be a competitive race.
Speaking during a burial ceremony in Kwa Maingi village in Kywangithya West Ward, Kitui County, Musambi downplayed online criticism directed at him by some of his political rivals, saying his focus remains firmly on engaging residents at the grassroots level.

“Mimi sina shida na wao… wacha waongee online, mimi niko na wananchi kwa ground,” Musambi said, emphasizing that his priority is to interact directly with voters and understand their development needs.
Musambi urged leaders and aspiring politicians in the Kitui Central MP race to maintain civility and avoid confrontational politics that could divide communities.
The aspirant noted that the constituency requires issue-based leadership and unity as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
At the same time, Musambi assured residents that if elected Member of Parliament for Kitui Central in 2027, he would focus on accelerating development and improving livelihoods across the constituency.
He pledged to build on the work already undertaken by the current legislator, Makali Mulu, acknowledging the development initiatives implemented during his tenure.

Musambi said continuity in development projects would be key in ensuring that the constituency maintains progress in areas such as infrastructure, education support programs, and economic empowerment for youth and women.

With several aspirants already expressing interest in the seat, the Kitui Central parliamentary race is expected to attract significant political attention in the coming months as campaigns gradually gain momentum across wards in Kitui Central Constituency.
Observers say Musambi’s grassroots-focused approach could shape the early dynamics of the race as politicians increasingly engage voters on development agendas and leadership credentials.
