“Bloody Sunday in Murang’a!” – Gachagua Accuses Ruto of Orchestrating Violent Attack on Senator Methu and Worshippers

Kenya’s political battlefield just turned bloodier — and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua isn’t holding back. In a bombshell statement that has rocked the country, Gachagua has directly accused President William Ruto and Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen of unleashing “state-sponsored militia and rogue police” to violently attack leaders and civilians at Ngonda Shopping Centre in Murang’a County.

The dramatic Sunday incident saw Senator Joe Methu and several other leaders allegedly assaulted after attending a church service, in what Gachagua has described as a chilling return to dictatorship and blood-soaked politics.

“Mr. William Ruto, what do you gain through deaths and bloodshed?” Gachagua thundered. “How do you kneel at the altar and send goons to beat and kill Kenyans moments later?”

In a statement dripping with rage, Gachagua painted Ruto as a modern-day despot, drawing comparisons to some of Africa’s most feared strongmen — Mobutu Sese Seko, Idi Amin, and General Sani Abacha — warning that Kenya would not be bullied into submission.

“Kenya is not in the league of failed regimes. We will not be silenced by goons in uniform or bloodthirsty political cowards!” he declared.

Calling it a “day of national shame,” Gachagua demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of the officers involved, warning Inspector General Douglas Kanja that justice would eventually catch up with him.

“I want to remind the police officers misused by William Ruto — history will judge you. Justice will be served no matter how long it takes,” he warned.

As images and reports of the Ngonda attack continue to spread online, Kenyans are watching closely — many asking: Has the line between leadership and tyranny finally been crossed?

The government is yet to respond officially, but with tensions flaring and accusations flying, Murang’a may have just become the epicenter of a political earthquake.
