The head of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui , Rt. Rev. Joseph Maluki Mwongela , is tomorrow expected to lead faithfuls of Eastern Deanery in consecration and official opening ceremony of The St Mary’s Miambani Catholic Parish Church.
Channel 15 News understands that the consecration ceremony of the new church built through support of parishioners and people of good will, will be attended by guests both from political and corporate sectors who have been invited to witness the historical event.
A source privy to the planning of the event and who is not authorized to speak to media, told this writer that two elected local Mps have confirmed that they will grace the event.
St Mary’s Miambani is one out of 32 home parishes in Catholic Diocese of Kitui, located in Kitui Central Constituency .
According to statistics by catholic website www.catholic-hierachy.org , Catholic Diocese of Kitui has over 220,000 Catholics according to data collected in the year 2021.
