In a bizarre turn of events straight out of a thriller, detectives in Kasarani have arrested two crafty conmen who mastered the art of deception—luring unsuspecting victims online by posing as seductive female masseuses, only to rob them blind.

The duo, identified as Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, ran a slick online scam offering “professional massage services” with the allure of irresistible beauty and fantasy. But behind the glamorously edited photos and tempting promises was a trap—deadly and deceptive.

One victim, seduced by what seemed like a dream offer, took the bait and booked a session at their so-called spa apartment along Lumumba Drive, Kasarani. Expecting relaxation and pampering, he was instead met with cold steel and threats.
Shortly after arrival, the façade dropped. The two “beauties” revealed their true identities—armed men with no intention of massaging anything but his finances. The terrified client was forced to transfer Sh280,000 via mobile money, before being violently ejected from the premises.
Following the victim’s report at Kasarani Police Station, a manhunt was launched. Detectives worked swiftly, trailing the suspects through digital footprints and forensic analysis. The duo was eventually nabbed while merrily unwinding at a chilling spot in the Kamiti prison area, presumably enjoying their loot.
They are now in custody as investigations continue, and will soon face charges in court.
Police are warning members of the public to be wary of online service ads that seem too good to be true—because sometimes, the beauty is bait, and the massage… a setup.
