Tension has engulfed Elburgon town after enraged residents stormed a local morgue and forcefully removed the body of slain human rights activist Richard Otieno, popularly known as Molo Prezident. The youthful leader was allegedly murdered last night by unknown hitmen, sparking outrage among his supporters and the wider Molo community.

Chanting anti-government slogans and demanding justice, protesters carried Otieno’s body through the streets, causing major disruptions. The emotional procession saw hundreds of residents join in, decrying what they termed as a targeted execution of a fearless defender of the people.

    “Tumekataa hii unyama!”

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene at the morgue, where a determined crowd overpowered security personnel and retrieved the activist’s remains. Video footage circulating online shows mourners wailing and chanting, vowing not to bury Otieno until justice is served.

“We refuse to sit back and watch as our leaders are taken out like animals! Richard was our voice, and now they’ve silenced him,” shouted one protester, his voice hoarse with emotion.

    Who Killed Molo Prezident?

Otieno, a well-known grassroots mobilizer, had in recent months clashed with powerful figures over land injustices, extrajudicial killings, and youth unemployment in Nakuru County. His brutal assassination has left many questioning whether his activism made him a marked man.

“The way he was killed is not ordinary,” said a close ally of the deceased. “This was an assassination. He had received threats before, but he never backed down.”

Heavy Police Deployment as Protests Intensify

Law enforcement officers have been deployed to contain the unrest, but the situation remains volatile. Tear gas canisters and water cannons have been used to disperse crowds, but residents continue to resist, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible for Otieno’s death.

Meanwhile, political leaders and human rights groups have condemned the killing, calling for an independent probe.

“This is a war against justice! We demand swift action to bring the perpetrators to book,” stated a Nakuru-based activist group.

As Molo burns with anger, the big question remains – will justice for Molo Prezident be served, or will his killers walk free?
