Former Machakos Senator and seasoned political strategist Hon. Johnson Nduya Muthama has extended an olive branch to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, urging him to reconsider his political alliances and join forces ahead of the 2027 presidential race.

Speaking at a funeral in Thinu, Machakos County, Muthama downplayed Kalonzo’s association with Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa, suggesting the partnership lacks the political clout needed to secure victory. He further highlighted the departure of former Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni to join the government as a sign of shifting allegiances.

“Let us be wise as a community and discern who will form the next government or will be the president in 2027, to avoid being left out again in the cold,” Muthama emphasized.

Muthama, known for his sharp political instincts and ability to unite factions, called for solidarity among the Kamba community, stressing that their unity would be crucial in determining their place in the next government.

His remarks come at a time of heightened political maneuvering, with key figures realigning themselves as the countdown to 2027 begins. Muthama’s overture to Kalonzo may reignite speculation about whether the former allies can bury their differences and chart a unified path forward.

The former senator’s comments, delivered during the burial of Mama Veronica Katile Mutua, mother to Eunice Nzilani, an officer in his office, underscored his commitment to reshaping the region’s political destiny. As the Kamba community watches closely, the ball now appears to be in Kalonzo’s court.

Will Kalonzo heed the call for unity, or will he stay the course with his current allies? The unfolding political drama promises to be a key talking point in the days to come.
