Today, over 960,000 candidates across Kenya are sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. The exams, a key milestone in the country’s education system, will run for three weeks, concluding in mid-November.
As the exams begin, security has been beefed up at examination centers nationwide. The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with security agencies, has deployed officers to all exam centers to ensure a smooth and secure process, safeguarding the integrity of the exams.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba assures the public that exam materials have been securely distributed across the country. He also encourages candidates to remain calm and focused, stating, “We wish all candidates success and urge them to maintain integrity throughout the examination period. Every precaution has been taken to prevent malpractices.”

The KCSE exams are crucial as they determine students’ admission to higher education institutions. Over the years, the government has implemented strict measures to curb exam cheating, including the deployment of police officers and the use of secure containers for exam papers.
Across the country, parents and teachers are expressing their support, offering words of encouragement to the students as they tackle this important stage of their education.
With heightened security and anticipation, the entire nation is wishing the candidates success as they begin their exams today.
