    State House Frustrations: Kenyatta Accuse Ruto Of Denying Him Budget To Manage His Office

    State House cannot substantiate where the money meant for funding Former Uhuru Kenyatta as per the constitution goes to, Spokesperson to the Office of Retired President Kanze Dena has revealed.

    According to Kanze, Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’ runs his office, fuels the vehicles (fuel cards were cancelled) and pays the staff allowances through his personal funding.

    There is no Government funding to the former president and his office, despite parliament allocating Ksh 503 million this financial year.

    The former president’s office has categorically distanced itself from the budget that was tabled in parliament as it was not consulted and not aware where the budget was prepared from.

    A statement issued by the spokesperson further revealed that The office had no input on the budget the etimates that informed the allocation of Ksh 450 million that Treasury projects to allocate it in the year 2025/2026 and Ksh 475 million for the year 2026/2027, as reported by the Star Newspaper of Tuesday, May 14th 2024.

    The Staff of President Uhuru Kenyatta including Kanze Dena and George Kariuki have not been on the Government payroll for months now, after government refused to renew their contracts.

    The retired president further accused Ruto’s administration of threatening his staff through proxies at the State House via phone calls, pushing them to resign from their position of service.
