The Standard Group Limited has appointed Marion Gathoga Mwangi as the new CEO.She take over from Joe Munene who has been on acting capacity .
Marion has over 20 years’ experience in Senior Management roles with expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Performance Management (HK), Trade Marketing and strategy .
According to her official blog site , Marion Gathoni Mwangi, over the last few years, she has a proven track record in transitioning business in Turnarounds Situation in Health Care, Industrial gas applications, FMCG, Commodity, Dairy and Professional Services sectors.
During her career she has held Executive Positions at Nestlé Foods (K) Limited and Bayer East Africa Limited and General Manager roles at Cadbury Kenya and East Africa (Kraft Foods), Unga Limited, Parmalat Botswana Pty (Groupe Lactalis), The Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and BOC Kenya PLC.
Untill her appointment at Standard Media Group, Marion was the Director of the Business Unit Bulk & Onsite at Africa Oxygen (AFROX), a Linde company. Previously she was the Managing Director of BOC Kenya PLC which is also a Linde Company.
She is also long serving director of The Palmhouse Foundation and serves on various boards including BOC Kenya PLC, BAT PLC and Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) as Non-Executive Director.
