Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has offered a KSh50,000 reward for credible information leading to the arrest of Nelson Ambia, who is wanted in connection with the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Feruz Hussein.
In a public appeal, Sonko alleged that Hussein was suffocated with a pillow following a minor domestic dispute. He further claimed that the suspect recorded the incident and sent the video to the victim’s grieving family.
Sonko also alleged that Ambia threatened to kill Hussein’s younger siblings, Shadia, 19, and Malik, 15.
According to Sonko’s appeal, the suspect was reportedly spotted in Kakamega County on Saturday, October 17, although his whereabouts have not been independently verified.
The matter was reportedly recorded at Sunton Police Station in Kasarani Sub-County under Occurrence Book (OB) No. 37 of September 30, 2026.
Sonko urged anyone with credible information about Ambia’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station, cautioning members of the public against confronting him.
“Being poor is not a crime! No family should be denied justice because of poverty,” Sonko said, calling for justice for Hussein and her family.
The allegations against Ambia have not been independently verified, and his guilt has not been established in court. Police confirmation of the reported incident and the status of investigations was not available at the time of publication.
