A senior officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who had been on the run over the murder of his wife has surrendered to police in Naivasha.

The officer, identified as Daniel Macharia, had earlier been named as the main suspect in the killing that shocked residents of Roysambu.
Victim Found Dead in Apartment
The victim, Florence Nyagah, 43, was discovered dead in her second-floor apartment along Lumumba Drive in Roysambu on the morning of March 1.

Her body was found inside the house under circumstances that police are treating as suspected femicide. Preliminary reports indicate she had suffered fatal injuries.
The matter was reported at Kasarani Police Station, prompting detectives to launch investigations before the suspect went into hiding.

After days on the run, the senior DCI officer surrendered to authorities in Naivasha. He is expected to be transferred to Nairobi to face further questioning as investigations intensify. Police are yet to provide full details surrounding the motive of the killing.
