Kenyan entertainment circles are abuzz after radio personality Mzazi Willy Tuva shared the story behind his role in nurturing the career of dancehall artiste Dufla Diligon, tracing the journey that began in 2012 at Marmanet.

Tuva recounted how the young talent stood out among hundreds of aspiring artistes due to his confidence, strong voice, and commanding stage presence despite still being a high school student at the time.

According to the veteran media personality, he advised the budding artiste to complete his secondary education before pursuing music professionally.

True to the guidance, Dufla later sought him out and made a bold move during the Mseto Campus Tour at Laikipia University, where he forced his way onto the stage even after being restrained by security.

Tuva narrated that the aspiring star endured resistance while trying to secure a performance slot, but his determination eventually earned him a chance to perform.

During the encounter, Dufla reminded Tuva of the earlier promise before delivering a performance that marked the beginning of his breakthrough.

The mentorship journey that followed included opening the artiste’s social media platform, facilitating his move to Nairobi, and linking him to record production opportunities.

Early visual projects were also supported, including the use of Tuva’s Mercedes Benz during the shooting of the “Yes You Do” music video.

Beyond studio promotion, the artiste was further exposed through campus tours and nationwide shows that helped introduce his music to a wider audience across Kenya.

Tuva emphasized that while mentorship played a role, the dancehall star’s career growth has largely been self-driven, describing him as a naturally determined talent who only needed guidance to flourish.

The artiste’s discography continues to grow with tracks such as Tempo, Biringisha, Donjo Maber featuring Iyanii, Rumours, and the latest release Penguin, which is currently drawing attention from music fans in the region.
