Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday led a host of political heavyweights in mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Moses Muthama Nduya, the only son of Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama and former Machakos Senator and Commissioner Johnson Muthama.

In an emotional show of unity that cut across political divides, Kalonzo visited the grieving family to offer condolences and stand in solidarity during what he described as a moment of “profound sorrow.”

He was joined by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr, and Rev. Dorcus Rigathi, among other leaders.

Kalonzo described the death of Moses as a devastating blow not only to the family but also to the wider political fraternity. He noted that losing a child is a burden no parent should ever have to bear, terming the loss of an only son as “a pain beyond human understanding.”

“Moses was their pride and joy, a young man full of promise, purpose and dreams for the future. His life was a blessing to his parents and to all who knew him,” Kalonzo said.
The Wiper leader emphasized that the memory of the young Nduya would remain a source of strength and comfort to the family even in this dark season of mourning.

Also present were Suba South MP Hon. Robert Mbui, Hon. Patrick Makau, Hon. Edith Nyenze, Hon. Jessica Mbalu, Hon. Kivasu Nzioka, Hon. Joshua Kimilu, Makueni Senator Sen. Dan Maanzo, Hon. Stephen Mule, Hon. Julius Mawathe, Kiambu Senator Sen. Karungo Wa Thang’wa, Wiper Party Deputy Organising Secretary Muriuki Ndwiga, MCAs from Kitui and Machakos counties, Advocate Ndegwa Njiru, Victor Munyaka, and several aspirants and young Wiper patriots.

Their presence underscored the political weight and personal relationships surrounding the family, with leaders momentarily setting aside partisan differences to stand together in compassion.

Kalonzo, speaking both as party leader and family friend, assured Senator Kavindu and Commissioner Muthama of his unwavering support.

“As Party Leader and as a friend, I stand in full solidarity with Senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama, Commissioner Johnson Muthama and their entire family. We mourn with you, we pray with you and we share in your loss. May the Almighty grant you strength, comfort and peace,” he said.

As the Machakos political family comes to terms with the tragedy, messages of condolence continue to pour in, reflecting the deep respect and networks the two leaders have built over decades in public service.
