Kitui County has taken a major step toward economic transformation through a strategic partnership with Yatta B2 Ranching Cooperative Society. Governor Julius Malombe, while signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the cooperative, emphasized the county’s commitment to fostering industrialization, improving infrastructure, and strengthening security.

The agreement will see the allocation of 1,500 acres at Yatta B2 Ranch for the construction of the Kitui Industrial Park. Governor Malombe criticized individuals who opposed the land allocation and challenged it in court, reaffirming his resolve to ensure that Kitui’s natural resources and investment opportunities directly benefit its residents.

As part of the initiative, Governor Malombe announced plans to establish a police station at Yatta B2 Ranch. This move aims to bolster security in the area, ensuring a conducive environment for industrial development and economic growth.

In addition to the industrial park, the partnership will facilitate infrastructure improvements such as road networks and water supply to support agro-industrial activities. The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing Kitui’s economic landscape through strategic collaborations and sustainable development projects.

The Yatta B2 Ranching Cooperative Society leadership welcomed the agreement, stating that it aligns with their vision of promoting economic empowerment and development in Kitui. The project is expected to create employment opportunities, attract investors, and position Kitui as a key player in Kenya’s industrial sector.

Governor Malombe called on all stakeholders to support the initiative, emphasizing that industrialization is a critical pillar for the county’s long-term prosperity.
