National Liberal Party (NLP) Leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli on Friday hosted a high-stakes meeting with grassroots mobilizers at his Misuuni residence in Kitui County, as the party’s nationwide registration drive hit fever pitch.

Addressing the charged crowd, Dr. Muli — also the National Anzauni Patron — used the platform to call out President William Ruto’s administration over the recent Principal Secretaries reshuffle, accusing the government of deliberately sidelining the Kamba community.

“As the fifth largest community in Kenya, the Kamba should not be reduced to spectators in national leadership. We deserve a full ministerial slot. My people are asking me, ‘What are we getting in return? We voted for this government, we pay taxes, and now we demand our rightful place,” Dr. Muli declared.

The NLP leader noted that while the Kamba command significant numbers in the voters’ register, development and representation remain elusive. He urged the President to serve all Kenyans equally, regardless of how they voted.

He further challenged the government to prioritize stalled projects in the region, including the multi-billion Thwake Dam and the Kitui-Kibwezi-Migwani Road, which he said are critical for unlocking the economic potential of Ukambani.

“Mr. President, where is the place of Kitui in your government? Our people need answers, not empty promises,” Dr. Muli added.

The meeting comes as NLP’s registration wave sweeps through Eastern Kenya and beyond, signaling the party’s growing influence as a new political force to watch ahead of 2027.
