Police in Thika, Kiambu County are investigating the tragic death of 23-year-old Seth Nyakio Njeri, a recent Zetech University graduate, whose body was discovered in a house in Biafra, Thika. Seth, the only child of Kirinyaga Nominated MCA Lucy Njeri, had left home on Saturday to visit a friend. According to her mother, the two spoke on Saturday night, but communication was lost by Sunday.

On Monday, the family received a disturbing call informing them that Seth had been killed. Authorities and family members arrived at the scene to find her naked and lifeless body on a bed. Initial police reports indicate that she was sexually assaulted and strangled to death, with investigators suggesting she was murdered on Monday.

Police are treating Seth’s estranged boyfriend as the prime suspect. Meanwhile, the friend she visited has already recorded a statement with the authorities.

Lucy Njeri is now urging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to speed up the investigation and bring those responsible to justice. “This is a mother’s worst nightmare. I want the DCI to move quickly so we can have justice for my daughter,” she said in an emotional plea.

The police continue to gather evidence, and investigations are ongoing as the community reels from the devastating news. Authorities have assured the public that they will pursue the case diligently to ensure justice is served.
