Six newly elected Members of Parliament are set to take their oaths this afternoon at the National Assembly, marking the beginning of their legislative duties. The MPs, representing constituencies across the country, gathered earlier for an orientation session aimed at familiarizing them with parliamentary procedures and protocols.

The orientation, held at the Speakers’ Gardens within the Main Parliament Buildings, was conducted by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr. Samuel Njoroge. During the session, the Members-Elect were guided through the registration process and collection of their bio-data, briefed on the use of the Chamber System, and taken on a tour of Parliament’s precincts.

They were also given an overview of key legislative matters to prepare them for their roles in shaping national policy.

The six MPs—Harrison Garama Kombe of Magarini, Ahmed Maalim Hassan of Banissa, Boyd Were Ongondo of Kasipul, David Athman Ndakwa of Malava, Leo Wa Muthende Njeru of Mbeere North, and Moses Okoth Omondi of Ugunja—will officially assume office this afternoon, joining the National Assembly at a time of heightened public expectations for effective representation and lawmaking.
